關於捐款,我要補充說明一下, 系友會聚餐時, 本系的文教基金會董事長劉文慶, 提出希望系友樂捐幫助窮困績優的本系學生, 且知道劉文慶及 stone 已分別各捐了20萬及10萬, 我們班上的耆老, 楊老先生福山, 就提議本班應該也要捐一點, 經詢問大家後, 每人捐2000元. 錢是我去收的, 其中陳維治將皮夾中的一萬多元台幣幾乎都掏光了, 且又掏出200元美金, 另外李文仁, 石全, 周榮家, 黃耀星, 潘錫廉...等等, 也都捐的比預定數目多, 應該還有幾位同學, 不過我記不得了, 抱歉.

也感謝我們的宇宙無敵超級大博士 ,石全對我的讚美, 謝謝了, 我們班能這麼和樂融融又團結, 這應該都是班上每一份子的貢獻, 我應該只是小有貢獻罷了.

最近好久沒有聽到本班雙寶之一的張淑瑩訊息, 另外本班的部落格成立至今, 也未見李文仁, 何重人, 盧道隆, 李成康, 楊福山, 潘錫廉, 張邦榮,王武智, 施良心,李建明, 謝俊吉...等這些會電腦會打字又位居高位的同學,上來部落格談談他們的近況, 或上傳最近的生活照片; 至於像劉文慶, 白錦祥, 周榮家,林茂榮,林世鋒 ...等人雖然推說不會打字, 但都是老闆級, 都有秘書, 也可請秘書或下屬代勞; 另外像在加拿大的陳永昌, 忙於兩岸賺錢的洪本達, 和 吳宏文, 陳培智, 陳榮輝, 陳建發, 李漢彬, 施純德,郭鴻澤, 陳鼎任,兩個陳文德....等若不會打字也可以請小孩代勞, 現在的下一代對電腦都比我們厲害多了. 希望能早日看到上述同學的近況.
最近我比較忙,因為我看台灣股市明後年有大行情, 如果我分析的沒有錯, 未來2, 3 年應該有機會突破民國79年的一萬兩千點 (目前是7800點), 美國的科技股也會有不錯的表現, 因此這陣子都在忙著看一些國內外專業法人的報告及與一些法人選股.
在近來中國崛起, 對中概股,傳產股有利外, 未來兩, 三年(2007--2009) intel 及 amd 等 cpu大廠 都認為 PC 將大好, 明年(2007年)又有wimax(下一代的無線傳輸), vista (新一代的微軟系統) , iphone(apple 的新手機), 及intel 的santa rosa(intel 無線晶片centrio 的下一代產品) 平台等都將推出, 加上已推出且賣到缺貨的 wii, 有些都是全新的殺手級應用, 對科技股有利, 尤其台灣是 世界 pc 產業的最大生產國 且其他的科技產業的生產, 台灣也都屬一屬二, 如果有做股票投資的同學可以注意一些有潛力的台灣科技股, 如正文 4906, 揚智 3041, 奈普 6255, 廣明6188, 全懋2446....等股, 明年如果沒有意外的話, 應有五成到一倍的獲利.

有空再聊, 未來如果有時間, 也可以將我在證券投資市場20幾年的投資心得, 與大家分享.

Hi Tofu,
Your write up is a work of art. I couldn’t add a single word to it. We all appreciate you for capturing the snap shots of these precious moments of this reunion. The hospitalities of our classmates and department made us felt at home again. The delicious food in those banquets made this “foreigner” wondering if we were in heaven. I have to admit that I gained six pounds during my two-week stay in Taiwan and have been trying to shed off this extra weight gain.

It is so encouraging to see our Chemistry department becoming top rated and stepping into many advanced research areas. I am so proud of being an alumnus of this institution and felt an urge to join these “adventures” again. I'll see you in five years if not sooner.

畢業30年同學會感言 杜福新

對畢業多年的系友而言,這一次創系50週年的系友會,辦得非常成功.

對我們這班來說,畢業30年後,大家都非常珍惜這次的重聚,因此除了本系的系友會外,

我們另外又辦了四次大小型的餐會.每次聚會,大家笑談以往趣事,互聊近況,次次都是在驚訝,哄堂大笑,以及等到餐廳早已打烊後,才依依不捨的結束.我們認為這次同學會不但非常成功也彌足珍貴, 更成為人生旅途中,一段非常值得懷念的記憶.

而這除了感謝本系舉辦50週年系友會外, 也都歸功於陳志鴻,劉文慶,周榮家,黃耀星,以及很多幕後出力的同學. 而石全博士的獲獎更加強了大家團聚的凝聚力. 這一切都.....

從兩塊石頭談起....

30幾年前,在學校唸書時, 我們班上有兩塊石頭( stone ), 一個是現在在系上當教授,且已發表多篇論文的陳志鴻博士,另外一位是今年九月剛獲得美國化學學會英雄獎的石全博士, 兩位都在學術上有卓越的成就, 是我們班上之光, 也是系上之光, 興大之光, 其中石全更是國人之光.

這兩位同學, 會被稱為’石頭’,有部分原因是因為他們做學問很堅實, 像磐石一樣, 常是班上的第一,二名, 另一個原因是, 他們太專注於K書, 對同學間的活動, 相對的較少參與. 但怎麼樣也沒想到, 這次的同學會, 他們兩位在連絡工作或心理的凝聚力上,貢獻最大. 尤其是以前很少參與班上活動的陳志鴻, 更成為促成此次同學會成功的關鍵. 總計這次的系友會, 我們班有高達25位同學及6位眷屬參加, 其中有七位同學及兩位配偶是遠從美國返國的.

相對於10年前, 我回學校參加的那次系友會, 這次的擴大舉行, 可以說辦的非常成功, 不但回校的系友高達五, 六百人, 系上的籌劃, 招待也十分完美. 從進校園的路線指引, 到停車場規劃, 報到區, 系友的分班聚會, 系館導覽, 眷屬參觀活動, 到系友大會, 懷舊之旅...等, 都設想周到. 中午"辦桌”聚餐, 更是賓主盡歡, 笑聲此起彼落, 讓回校的系友賓至如歸, 都能留下極珍貴的回憶.

尤其在系友大會中, 我們聽到, 教育部對全國25所大學的化學系及應化系所作的評鑑, 我們的系今年得到第四名, 只差台大, 清大, 及成大, 真是不簡單, 而且系主任更定下目標要在幾年內超過成大, 我們預祝能早日達成 . 另外除了看到以往教導我們的老師外, 也看到現在的師資陣容非常堅強,很多都是長春藤或世界一流大學的Phd., 裡面有不少還是我們系上培養出的校友, 及我們前後屆的同學 . 讓我們以身為興大化學系的一員為榮 . 而本班的石全也在系友會中獲頒興大傑出校友獎 ; 曾任立法委員的劉文慶同學,從1995年,在本系剛成立文教基金會起, 就一直任董事長至今, 幫助本系文教工作及在校優秀同學極多, 在會中也代表全體系友致詞...等, 更讓本班同學都與有榮焉.

在校園懷舊之旅中, 由陳志鴻領軍, 一路上, 充滿了驚訝, 大家努力從腦海中搜尋舊有的記憶, 嘗試與眼前所看到的影像互相結合. 同時以往的趣事, 也一一浮現, 開懷的爆笑聲, 與陣陣的驚嘆聲, 此起比落, 大家都重新憶起在校四年中的美好回憶 . 在現在的校園中, 除了以前上課的舊理工大樓, 椰林大道, 及以前的植化館...等, 仍未變外, 其他的像大家常K書的圖書館, 打球, 活動筋骨及大一曾辦過營火會的操場, 下課後打撞球的學生活動中心, 及惠蓀堂....等等, 大多改建了. 整體來看, 不但本系的系館變的更現代化, 實驗儀器設備更先進, 母校的校園也變得更新, 更美, 更大, 也更具有一流大學的格局.

綜觀我們班這次的同學會, 除了10月28日回校參加系友會外, 之前, 我們在台北及台中也辦了兩場會前會, 分別由黃耀星及周榮家宴請, 為歸國同學接風及先小聚. 校友會結束當晚, 更由劉文慶同學, 在全國飯店宴請所有參加的同學及眷屬 . 在餐會中, 除笑談以往趣事外, 所有與會同學, 都自我介紹, 將畢業後這三十年間的經歷, 包含深造, 就業, 結婚, 生子, 創業...等酸甜苦樂的過程及一些特別的經歷, 說出來與所有同學分享 . 粗估我們班上有10位博士, 8位碩士; 同學中, 不論是任公職, 或企業的專業經理人, 或者自行創業, 很多同學都頗有一番成就, 有的已經退休, 生活也規劃的怡然自得.

另外留美同學離台前, 在台北我們又辦了個小型的送行餐會, 有兩位之前無法參加系友會的同學, 李成康, 及許萬豐這次也參加了. 我則是少數五次餐會都能參加的一位, 在這些餐會中, 每次都是笑聲不斷, 開懷的暢談到餐廳早已打烊後,大家才依依不捨的結束.

期望五年後, ‘畢業35年同學會’再見

在本次同學會後, 我們也成立了一個班上的部落格 chemistry65 ,另外聚餐時用數位像機拍了幾小段的短片, 上傳到 Youtube網站 , (請同時按下Ctrl鍵及滑鼠左鍵,就連線可觀看) 如我們剛學跳舞的糗事 , 當年微積分是怎麼過關的 之1 (在台中), 當年微積分是怎麼過關的 之2 (台北餞行餐會). 同時在全國飯店聚餐的當晚, 全體同學一致期望五年後在2011年的感恩節, 我們在台北再辦一次, 比這次人更多的”畢業35年同學會”, 希望到時候我們班上的二塊大石頭, 及其他的小石頭們, 都能拿到更多優異的獎項, 也預祝大家身體更健康,事業更興隆, 本系也能如預期更上一層樓.

Missing.family

I have been following this story for the past few days and it turned out as a very sad story. A happy trip just because of a wrong turn changed the family forever. Imagine stranded in the snow covered wilderness for a week with two very young children, running out hopes for a rescue so the father had to leave the car and go for help.

這位先生做木工的工具全是古董，真是辛苦。

曾經釀過兩次的李子酒，後院的李子大豐收之故，下次有空再跟各位切磋，每次可裝12瓶。
一直想嘗試做葡萄酒，程序都是相同的只是還沒有機會動手。

One more

This is probably the last major furniture I made, it's around 1995 or so. Then I was getting a little busier and doesn't have that much time to enjoy woodworking. As time goes by, my eyes get lazy as you guys can understand, consequently it's more difficult to make things now.

Among woodworking tools I like to use the bench plane the most, when you see that thin wood shavings curling up and smell the wood fragrance, it's amazing.

I have made several desks, a double decker kid's bed, my own queen size bed with 4 drawers under, an entertainment center, etc .......
Generally, when I see a nice piece of furniture and I think that I like it a little different, that's the motive to make my own.

That is a very "constructive" good hobby. You made excellent cabinets. Thanks for sharing your products.

I took a basic carpentry class about 9 years ago. What I learned was drywalling and wooddecking. After that class I took down two water damaged walls in my sun room, then replaced and painted them with the help of my older daughter. I was quite proud of the results. My $50 tuition and a little bit sweat probably saved us thousands.

The weather is very warm today but the temperature took a dive a couple of hours ago. It may hit 32 F tomorrow morning. No snow yet. We usually get a few inches of snow a year. I like Atlanta a lot. Housing is still very cheap comparing to that at California. You guys at California probably can sell your house, then move to here and retire for good. LOL

Woodworking

槌子, That weatherwoman has been with TV-9 for years and years, so I am used to seeing her. We had very strong wind for the past couple of days – around 30~40 mph.
The good thing is the wind blow all the falling leaves to somebody’s yard, save me tons of sweeping.

小時候在台南我們家對面是一個木匠，我幾乎是看著他工作長大的。真是所謂耳濡目染，那時沒有power tool 完全憑真功夫。來美後發現這裡是DIY的天堂，說來真是神奇，我都不用拜師學就產品接二連三的出來了。難怪孟母要三遷。
圖中是車庫內的 storage cabinet，從設計圖開始到安裝，一手包辦。還有展示一部份我的武器，沒法全數登出來。這些都是大概1990年那陣子做的。

明炫,我兩年前買的webcam, 是這網站(logitech)中最下面的 快看溝通版（Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX）的舊款,當時是最新的,價錢比現在貴多了,現在已經是比較舊了,不過仍相當好用. 上面兩款是新的,應該會更棒.

明炫,你說的沒錯, 送禮物要量力而為,像我之前順的時候,想到就送,一年可以送個好幾次, 最近幾年不太順, 已經好幾年沒送什麼禮物了. 而且那提議是以本班之光--石全, 宇宙無敵超級大博士(joe, 我夠狗腿了吧, 哈) 為基礎想到的, 因為是他提出的問題. 另外,當時已經寫的像star 所說的 '落落長'了, 大家的ideas 又一直刊出來,因此有些來不及寫就先發佈了.

我想送老婆大人的禮物,除了鑽石,珠寶, 維治的汽車,黃金 ( 黃金,金幣可保值, 欣賞, 不會壞又可當傳家寶. 據我了解, 維治是這方面專家,已經專研的十幾年, 甚至為網站寫過黃金,白銀等貴金屬的投資專欄, 有這方面問題也可以問他. 這幾年黃金,白銀都大漲, 他應該賺翻了, 下次等他請客, 哈), star 的音響,皮包 (差一點寫成包皮, 哈) .....等外, 我還有一些ideas. 當然這也是延續我前面那一篇未完的, 以石全為主, 其他沒有當到 宇宙無敵超級大博士的同學(包括我在內)為輔了.

1, 一趟出國旅行, 二度 ,三度 或N度蜜月. 甚至可坐 discovery 介紹的豪華郵輪,如Queen Mary II或歐洲東方快車...旅行.
2. 脈衝光的激光美白美容. 我太太及老丈人去做過, 效果不錯.
3. 一筆錢也是不錯的想法(我老婆大人的想法), 讓她們自己買自己想要的.
4. 手錶, 衣服, 包包, 皮鞋,....等一些配件也不錯.
5. 一頓豪華的晚宴, 歌劇....等也不錯.
6. 沒有時間的話, 就到豪華飯店, 像維治所說的, 經過heartbeats後, long joe 變成 joe, 也不錯, 哈.我想我現在也比較沒什麼錢, 我就送維治推薦的這禮物, 哈.

其他的以後再想了, 這個死陳維治已經在msn譏笑我 "Wei-Chih 說 (上午 11:59):gee...must be a master piece" ㄍ安ˋ, 哈

再說禮物

諸位公子所提供的都是很好的構想，孩子小時我們比較注重聖誕禮物，現在則比較注意給他們買東西的時機。像是12年級給他們有自己的車子，也不一定是新車，總是量力而為。上大學時提供notebook，老大有在打工，他自己負擔一半的費用。生日時問他們要甚麼，有時給錢看是要存起來以後再用都行。我老婆看到你們這般的送大禮可要來個家庭革命了。

豆腐的webcam真有意想不到的功效，一般如果避免廣角鏡頭是可以減少變形的。
能夠建議那一個Logitec model嗎？

我買禮物都偏向自己喜愛的東西，這也難怪，怎麼說也不能送自己看不上眼的東西給親愛的家人。也許我們應該請教wandering65看女生們到底喜歡那一類的禮物。

Joe，給內人的禮物每次都要費盡心思。幾年前已經送過她黃河流域出土的彩陶甕當生日禮物，那回她非常高興。古董家具體積太大，家中不宜擺太多。而且真的古董越來越少，買到的機會也很難，後來都趁出國買皮包給她。

star, 明炫, 石全 , 謝謝你們啦, 我只是響應 明炫盆景 的 '拋玉引磚' 下,也post出我的油畫處女作罷了. 不過我相信石全最老實, 因為他承認他的鼻子已經變的 long and brown, 哈. anyway , 謝謝大家.

star, 沒錯 ,如果我用一般的 dsc 拍我的畫, 相片外邊會彎曲. 我是用 logitech 的網路攝影機 (webcam) 所拍的. 你的收藏都蠻名貴的, 可買專業點的1000萬畫素,單眼數位像機 (SLR)來拍存檔,就不會有這問題.

聽到石全說我的畫, 可以拿到 "輸死比" 去拍賣, 雖然我知道他的鼻子變的 long and brown, 但是聽了還是很爽, 因此昨天上網找的一晚,不過沒什麼收穫, 倒是star 的話 , 提醒了我, 要買他們需要的. 早上又跟維治討論,他說買給現在的大小孩應該是 electonic gadgets. 因此我想到一些不錯的"禮物" 可以給石全或其他的同學作參考, 有些可能已經有了,可從中挑選.

1. 汽車 : 我們唸大學時, 都有腳踏車, 很希望有摩托車. 如果孩子還沒有車,給唸大學的小孩一輛新車, 應是最佳禮物.

2. notebook: 一部 centrio inside的 laptop,應是不錯的選擇. 如果能內建電視卡, 可以看電視, 更適合dormitory 的生活. 台灣出給歐洲的 laptop 有內建TVBT card ,可收看數位電視, 美國應該是要買具有 USB的電視外接盒. 基本上, 現在的小孩多比我們清楚, 帶他們去選即可, 或者就買 ibm 的thinkpad X系列, 我有一位朋友是ibm pc 部門被併前的採購主管, 他強力推薦 thinkpad.

3. wii : 這是nintendo (任天堂) 最新且最炫,最具臨場感的遊戲機, 11月19日上市, 沒有預定可能買不到, 但這是最炫的, 沒有多少同學有. 退而求其次, 可以買微軟的 xbox360.

Just like you I have watched too much Bob Villa's show and become more confortable with tools such as hammers, saws and brushes. But installing a gas-stove is not something i am ready to try, my hat off to the Master (you!).

Star was right that it is difficult to fine gifts (that they don't need) to our love ones. Electronic gadgets seems to be the best choices for the boys (including ourselves), but what about wifes? Star, any suggestion? You are the wise one, are you going to get another piece of beautiful antique furniture for 另久嫂？ :-)!

油畫 & 聖誕禮物

豆腐的油畫的確有職業水準！！要送拍賣場嗎？
豆腐，你的大作是用數位相機拍好再上傳嗎？
一般繪畫面積比較大，相機拍出來不是那麼方正。你貼出來的圖檔效果很好，四個角落都不會變形，如何做到的？

阿炫，其實油畫入門，可以買類似蠟筆形狀的油畫筆，作畫的時候就像小孩子塗鴉，這樣成品就有油畫效果，但是不需要很大的技巧。當然這樣畫起來的畫作，不可能有筆刀出來的浪花或者山脈的肌理，可是不至於有挫折感。

看到阿炫推薦的聖誕禮物：數位相機、衛星導航，比較像買給自己使用的，這樣符合Joe的想法嗎？
其實每回挑選禮物還真是傷腦筋，現代人什麼都有、什麼都不缺，想要從「不需要」的項目中，挑選家人會喜歡的禮物，真要很用心。
各位同學都是愛家的好男人，都有這份心思想要為家人準備禮物！！！

Nice to hear from you. Time goes so fast, didn't even have much chance to talk to you while in Taiwan.

Tofu's painting looks great, many times I was tempted to almost want to try oil painting, but never set foot on it. I guess I watched Bob Villa's home improvement more than Bob Ross's Joy of Painting, so I ended up as a painter. On the opposite, Tofu became an Artist.

This year doesn't seem to have any exciting gadget that one got to have, mostly the prices are much lower. I saw a digital camera at Best Buy cost $125 and seems good enough, with a 2.4" lcd screen (samsung). GPS navigation is convenient but unless you travel all the time, not that useful. The worst thing is wherever you go, parking will be a problem especially at the mall. Anyway, Happy Christmas Shopping!!

Regarding you joke about Jong-Chia and me, you have to ask Jong-Chia about what "Lon" stands for? I can tell you that while we compared many things when we were roommates together, we missed the part you suggested..........hehehe!

豆腐! 歸根究底還是要謝謝你，否則也沒有今天的部落格。
話說...They supposed to deliver the stove between 2~4 pm, I waited and waited,
at 4:30 I called and they said sorry, delayed. Anyway they came at 7:30 pm
and finally have the "range" installed. 期間還說瓦斯管線開關太緊不能關所以不能裝。
真是欺人太甚，“本人”只好親自動手，it's a little tight but nothing serious.

重點是務必要double check their work, when I was in Taiwan after gas cylinder was delivered,
they always light up a match and show you that there is no leak. I was thinking about
doing the same but my old age told me that I should just use soppy water.
And you know what, there really was a small leak (it could turn into a big problem,
because the connector was very loose). what a lesson!!

On my way home this morning dropped in a computer store and it's packed with people.
Can't even find the end of the checkout line,
they need to assign one person just to guide customers to the end of the line.
There were at least 100 people in the line, I eventually gave up.

據我所知，多數人還是用注音輸入，畢竟以我們的年紀要重新學習倉頡或其他輸入法都比較困難。
注音鍵盤就像英文字母一樣，ㄅㄆㄇㄈ在最左邊，用左小指，ㄉㄊㄋㄌ用左無名指，以此類推。

看來同學們對這個部落格反應相當熱絡，這樣大家交談內容都在一個畫面，也比 mail 要方便。

Carole King

Carole King is coming, making one of her world tour performances here. I love her songs since I was in high school, but lost tracks of her during those years of my extremes.

A few days ago, Carole was on a TV interview after a concert in Sydney talking about her singing, song-writing and real-life styles --being natural and simple. I admire her spirit; she is over 60 now. She seems involve in issues of environment and politics these years, campaigning for John Kerry during last election of US.

Would very like to go her concert when she comes. After checking the ticket, oh! the price ranges from 133 to 62 USD. I have to think it over.

有一些中文輸入的問題 也許大家可以參考一下意見，
我用的是 microsoft new phonetic IME 2003 with associate phrase,
on English windows XP with on screen soft keyboard.

1. 有可能背得了注音符號鍵盤嗎，怎麼記？
2. 目前有更好的輸入法嗎？〈容易學〉

這次回台買了銀光小蒙恬，給老婆用的。
有太多字我都不會寫了，注音倒還可以。

諸位同學不妨試試post看看，不滿意還可以delete, edit
不像email一寄出就收不回來了。

前陣子跟很多同學聯絡, 知道我們這些三,四年級生,有很多人電腦都不熟, 有些人只會收信,但不會回信, 也有很多不會打字,否則應會有更多人上這blog.

這blog,我是以我們班簡稱 65chemistry的名義去申請的,目前由我暫時管理,過一陣子再把管理權交給大家(哈, 我怕有些人不熟,會把設定弄亂了,或者更慘的是, 在"設定"中,按一個delete鍵就會把這部落格整個刪掉)
